Specimen Requirements

Blood must be analyzed within 20-30 minutes of collection.  (It is recommended that the patient blood be drawn at the Conway Regional Medical Center Laboratory.)  Draw blood in a lavender top (EDTA) tube. (Clotted blood is not acceptable.) Immediately after draw, invert tube several times to mix blood with additive. Avoid hemolysis.
