Specimen Requirements

2 mL of body fluid collected by a physician in a lavender-top (EDTA) tube(s). Maintain sterility and forward promptly.

Note: 

1. If specimen is bloody, send specimen as soon as possible.

2. Delays in testing may cause decreased white blood cells and inaccurate differential results.

3. If crystal examination is desired, please collect specimen in a plain, red-top tube(s). 

4. Indicate specimen source on specimen container and request form.
