Specimen Requirements

Submit only 1 of the following specimens:

Venous

Draw blood in a lavender-top (EDTA) tube(s) and send 3 mL of EDTA whole blood. Forward promptly at ambient temperature only.

Note: 1. Indicate venous blood on request form.
2. Label specimen appropriately (venous blood).

Capillary

Draw blood in a lavender-top (EDTA) pediatric tube(s) and send 1 mL of EDTA whole blood. Forward promptly at ambient temperature only.

Note: 1. Indicate capillary blood on request form.
2. Label specimen appropriately (capillary blood).
