Specimen Requirements
50 mL (minimum volume: 25 mL) from a 24-hour urine collection in a plastic, screw-capped urine container supplied. No preservative.Note: 1. 24-Hour volume is required on request form for processing.
2. Although a 24-hour urine specimen is recommended, a random specimen will be tested if sent.

If protein concentration is abnormal, the following fractions, if present, will be reported as a percent of the protein total.

Reference values apply to 24-hour collections. Specimens collected for periods other than 24 hours will be reported in concentration units.
